The weather is still nice
and we're in the middle of the holidays, Thanksgiving is gone
and Christmas is right around the corner, we've really had no
rain to speak of so the water situation is no better, but
there's still plenty of time to get out and ride before the
2007 season is done.
Do it brother, get on out, get on your horse and
ride! Do it this
weekend!
Christmas shopping is going on big
time! Which
brings me to my first topic of conversation today; I
understand everybody's family is different. Different indeed, but
for the Langley family, this time of year is usually about
when my mother starts to call. She'll be wanting to
know if we're heading over to Georgia for the family reunion
again this year, or if we're heading to New Jersey to meet up
with Kathy's side of the family. Either way, it's
always a tough call.
But, whether it's Georgia or New Jersey, one thing's
for sure, I hope to get some quality family time in during the
holidays. Good
conversation with some tongue and cheek humor, a good meal,
and even a few cold drinks. Family time is
important so I hope you get family time in too.
Speaking about family, you
know for awhile now I've wanted to make the 29 Dreams
newsletter a little more personal. And by personal I
mean, writing or talking about something besides construction
and expanding. I
wanted to write a little more often and I wanted to write
about friends and family or as some might say in-laws and
out-laws. Other
stuff too like, a member's perfect motorcycling trip. Perhaps even ask a
member to write a short story so all the members can share the
experience.
Safety seminars are coming to town soon too. Monthly
dinner meetings and monthly bike nights that'll be social but
structured to be informative too. Emergency tire patch
repair classes, general safety classes, and more.
You can expect to see newsletters from us
here at 29 covering more personal topics in the spring. I hope you enjoy
reading these newsletters and I hope you'll help us organize
some of them and or put them together for others to
share. As long as
they're constructive and beneficial for the members, the
topics could be exciting and the fun could be endless.
If you'll bear with me, I
want to reiterate the holiday message one more time. As my family ages, so
too do my friends.
I see it in their faces, I hear it in their voices and
I see it in their behavior. I'm not a philosopher,
but just like you, I happen to be getting older with every
passing year.
And, I wonder when we can make more time to actually
stop and smell a daisy or two. I mean more
often. More often
than we really do.
We've lost a few members again this year. Near as I can tell the
count is around 12.
But, I don't hear about all of them I'm sure. The one's I do hear
about, well, those letters are the most difficult to read and
the most difficult to answer. So it's the time of
year to reflect my friend. Take some time, catch
up with some old friends, enjoy the holiday season with your
family and friends, you'll be glad you did.
Sunday December 16th will be
our last day of business for 2007. We're going to close
down for the 2007 season, take a few days off, paint a little,
and take a physical inventory for the tax man. That'll also be the day
we have the members Christmas Party from 1:00 PM until 5:00
PM. We're
planning on special sales and special prices galore. We'll sell out most
inventories so we don't have to count them. We hope you can ride
out and visit with us.
It'll be good to see you one more time before 2007 is
gone, and, I think I'll go on ahead and get started on my
resolutions for 2008. I've listed a few of
them below.
Ride Safe,
Tim and Kathy
